On the cover of La Cadena!

June 6, 2008

Cool! I’m on the cover of THE tango magazine of the lowlands (The Netherlands and Belgium): La Cadena.

The picture was taken by Belgium’s best tango photographer Peter Forret, also maintainer of milonga.be.

Bajofondo: capturing the energy

November 2, 2007

On Halloween there was a Bajofondo concert in Hasselt, it was the second time this year that I saw them and as always it was an excellent and exciting concert, not to be missed! It’s so good to see the fun and pleasure that these guys have on stage. They were even wearing Halloween masks!
Moreover, I bought the new CD “Mar Dulce” and had it autographed by Santaolalla, Ferres and Supervielle! Yes! I’m happy 😉

I tried to capture the energy and action of the concert in photographs, just as I try to capture the action of tango dancing. I like to see movement in photographs so it’s not all sharp and crisp. It’s more impressionistic I guess…

Here are my attempts:

I’m on tweeduizend.be!

July 25, 2007

That’s right! Today one of my tango pictures was selected for tweeduizend.be, a photo site for pictures taken in and about Antwerp, analogous to drieduizend.be for Leuven.
One photo is selected daily from all photos tagged with “tweeduizend“, “Antwerp” or “Antwerpen” on Flickr and Photoblog. So everyone can easily participate! Just tag your pictures!
One cool feature of tweeduizend.be is the Google Maps mashup.

This is the winner:

Face recognition is hot !

February 4, 2006

After finding Riya Photo Search I also found MyHeritage, two sites that use face recognition technology to find people in your pictures.

Riya‘s goal is to help you find every photo of yourself on the web through face recognition, they will have a public beta this month.
MyHeritage wants to make it easier for people to discover their heritage through face recognition, they already have a public demo.

I’m very eager to try them out, automatically recognizing and tagging faces on all my pictures would be very interesting. I will report my findings after trying them out.
